The Center for On-Site Education and Research (COSER) was established in order to provide advanced education that contributes to peace and stability in Asia and Africa. The Asian and African regions have been facing a number of social problems such as economic disparity, food shortages, tropical forest destruction, and the deterioration of security due to civil war and terrorism, thus it is required to clarify the causes and processes of those issues, and to propose concrete measures on them. The COSER aims to develop human resources who can play significant roles to solve those issues, and thus provide various supports for the graduate students of ASAFS on research activity, career development, and daily life.
